Does this trade make sense for the Portland Trail Blazers?
The Portland Trail Blazers are waiting patiently to see how this Damian Lillard situation is going to play out. It is unlikely that they decide to move their franchise player on their own so CJ McCollum could be the odd man out. He has great value and there could be a huge return paired in this trade.
Portland made a free-agency move when they re-signed Norman Powell. He was acquired in a mid-season trade with the Toronto Raptors and played well enough to earn a deal. There hasn’t been external additions made that will impact the roster much, though.
Now, the Trail Blazers could balance the rotation on both ends of the floor. This is where Myles Turner fits in well. Portland has struggled to find consistency down low.
Turner led the league in blocks this season and has improved his scoring game as well. He is an improved shooter and can dominate down low. TJ Warren would be that replacement scorer on the perimeter if McCollum is sent away.

A main reason that Portland has been unable to find success in the postseason is that they are not as well-rounded as other squads. That can be changed in a blockbuster deal this offseason. If Lillard is not involved, the next candidate has to be McCollum.
