This Magic-Sixers trade is centered around Ben Simmons

Does this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?

Ben Simmons has apparently cut ties with the Philadelphia 76ers. This is a relationship that is not going to be mended over time. It would benefit both sides to just part ways and go on.

That is what is likely going to happen once the Sixers feel like they have gotten the best offer they could. If that is from the Magic, this could be the offer that puts it over the top.

Philadelphia added perimeter threats last offseason and this proved to be a major improvement. They ended up with the best record in the Eastern Conference but did not have enough firepower come postseason time.

Joel Embiid is going to be an MVP candidate moving forward and it is time the Sixers fully commit to building around him. Cole Anthony and Gary Harris are reliable options along the perimeter that would add some more depth. Isaac would have a chance to learn from one of the best bigs in the league and thrive in a new system, if healthy.

The Sixers are going to remain a force in the Eastern Conference moving forward. Sending Simmons away in a trade will not change that so it will be interesting to see which deal they end up taking.
