Does this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?
If the Toronto Raptors are to hit the “reset button” and start over, then trading Pascal Siakam would be a smart move, especially since his value is as high as it is going to be in this league. Siakam is a great forward, but he is nothing more than a No. 2 guy.
He is not a high-level leader like Kyle Lowry was and while he was named an All-Star during the 2019-20 season, he really is not a top-tier player in this league. Pascal Siakam is more than capable of being a championship-level performer and a star-like player for virtually any team, but he is not a No. 1 option for a team.
Trading him now allows the Raptors to not only capitalize on his value, but gain key future assets that they can start over with and build another championship contending team. Buddy Hield is a key offensive talent on the wing and Marvin Bagley III can answer a lot of the questions surrounding the Raptors’ frontcourt entering the 2021-22 season.
Bagley is only under contract for one more season so Toronto would be tasked with possibly extending him long-term, but they would basically get him for a one-year loan to see if they want to keep him or not.

Hield, Bagley, a 2022 first-round pick and a future second-round pick is fair value for Pascal Siakam and something the Toronto Raptors should highly consider if this is something they are offered.
