Does this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?

Pascal Siakam entered the league in 2016 and since then, he has been getting better and better as an all-around threat on the offensive-end of the floor. He may not be an impact defender, but Siakam is the kind of guy the Kings would love to pair with De’Aaron Fox.

Not to mention, Siakam may actually entertain the idea of going to the Sacramento Kings not only because of De’Aaron Fox, but because of Rico Hines, a player development coach for the Kings.

Hines joined the Sacramento Kings coaching staff in 2019 and has been within their organization since 2016, as he worked with the Stockton Kings in the G-League as an assistant and developmental coach.

Prior to his time in the NBA and the G-League though, Rico Hines has been assisting NBA talents in the offseason and has helped some key players in the league in their development, including Pascal Siakam. Both Siakam and Hines go back years from when they worked together in preparation for the 2016 NBA Draft and they do still have a strong relationship with one another.

Already having some relationships with the Sacramento Kings training staff could be huge in their efforts to potentially land Pascal Siakam. Very rarely have the Kings been in the news for adding a star-level player, as they have been known for trading them away, so it should be interesting to see if Sacramento can indeed pull off a move to this magnitude.
