Sets Career-High For 3-Point Shooting
Throughout his career, Carmelo Anthony has been a decent 3-point shooter. He has knocked down 1.3 3-pointers per game in his career and made 35.3 percent of his career attempts, but a lot of his struggles came during his early years with the Denver Nuggets.
Anthony made only 31.1 percent of his 3-point attempts with Denver, a number that improved to 36.9 percent with the New York Knicks. He reached a career-high 40.9 percent with the Portland Trail Blazers this past season.
There have been five seasons that Anthony has averaged at least 2.0 3-point makes in his career and two seasons over 40 percent. This season with the Lakers, he is going to set career-highs in both categories.
Anthony embraced coming off the bench with the Trail Blazers and will be asked to do that again this season. Taking over the scoring role vacated by Kyle Kuzma off the bench, Anthony will find plenty of open looks playing alongside some star-studded teammates.
