Lakers Land Ring Chasers

Contending teams landing ring chasing veterans is something that occurs every year. The Los Angeles Lakers were going to be a popular destination for those ring chasers regardless. But, they could receive even more interest from veterans now with Russell Westbrook in the fold.

Los Angeles has a legitimate Big 3 with Westbrook joining LeBron James and Anthony Davis. There are some concerns about how the three will coexist, but there is no denying that they will be a difficult trio to slow down.

Any holes currently on the roster could be filled in free agency. There will be several veterans that will want to join them with hopes of winning an NBA championship.

Carmelo Anthony and J.J. Redick are two players that come to mind that have been linked to Los Angeles previously and will certainly be pursued now. Anthony can replicate to scoring punch that Kyle Kuzma provided and Redick’s 3-point shooting was a need even before Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was traded.

Two more players to keep an eye on are Goran Dragic and Maurice Harkless. Dragic could hit free agency if the Miami Heat declines his option. The chance to play a prominent role and contend for a title might be worth the pay cut. Harkless would provide some floor-spacing and versatility on the defensive end in the frontcourt.
