1. Jarrett Allen
One of the things the Dallas Mavericks have to do this offseason is finding a center to play alongside Kristaps Porzingis. If they are not going to move him, they need to do all they can to ensure that he performs better on the court. If that means landing an impact center, so be it.
This year’s free-agent class is pretty deep at the center position. Dallas should take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers and come with an aggressive offer sheet for restricted free agent Jarrett Allen.
Jarrett Allen is the best center on the free-agent market this offseason. At 23-years old, he is already an elite-level rebounder and rim protector, averaging 8.3 boards and 1.4 blocks per game in his career despite playing only 25.4 minutes per game.
Adding that kind of defensive presence would certainly help the Mavericks turn things around on that end of the court. It is six seasons and counting that Dallas has seen its defensive rating get worse.

Being able to impact the game without needing the ball in his hands is something Dallas needs more players to do and Jarrett Allen certainly checks that box. It would be a bit of a homecoming for the Austin, Texas native as well coming to play with the Mavericks.
