3. Gary Trent Jr.
The performance by Kristaps Porzingis in the postseason has made some cause for concern for the Dallas Mavericks. His disappearing act offensively is something they cannot afford to have happened, as Luka Doncic was left virtually by himself carrying the offense.
Finding another consistent scorer would be smart, and Gary Trent Jr. could be that guy. Trent is a restricted free agent this summer with the Toronto Raptors, but Dallas should offer him a massive offer sheet to pair him in the backcourt with Doncic.
Gary Trent Jr. is only 22-years old, so he fits the long-term timeline in Dallas. He has already proven that he is a walking bucket and it will not be long before he is scoring well over 20 points per game.
He is a career 39.3 percent 3-point shooter and is only scratching the surface of his potential as his role expanded with the Portland Trail Blazers and Raptors this past season.

The former Duke product will have to round out the rest of his game, as Gary Trent Jr. doesn’t offer much in terms of rebounding or assisting, but he is a promising defender. Standing 6’5” with a 6’9” wingspan, Trent can be a difference-maker on that end of the court with the ability to defend three positions.
