Does this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?

Kyle Kuzma trade takes have been heating up ever since the Lakers lost their first-round series to the Suns and one of the teams that may have interest in him this offseason is the Sacramento Kings. Nothing has gone right for Sacramento over the years and they could be in need of frontcourt talents moving forward, especially with Richaun Holmes being a free agent this offseason and Marvin Bagley III entering the final year of his contract.

Adding Kuzma to their roster gives the Kings a versatile forward who is more than capable of growing into a really solid option next to De’Aaron Fox on this roster. Before Anthony Davis was traded to the Lakers, Kyle Kuzma was a focal point in Los Angeles’ offense, averaging 17.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and shooting 45.3% from the floor, 33.5% from three-point range over the course of his first two seasons in the league.

Getting back to being this type of player would be highly beneficial for Kuzma’s career, as well as beneficial for the Kings. Who knows what is going to happen in free agency with Richaun Holmes, but the Kings need to be prepared to grow without him, which is what this trade enables them to do.

Not only can Kyle Kuzma be someone who turns into a main contributor for them during the 2021-22 season, but so can Montrezl Harrell. The former Sixth-Man of the Year is that “bruiser-type” center the Kings like to have and he could immediately contribute to the Kings as their starting center if Holmes is no longer around.

Even if they do bring back Richaun Holmes on a new contract, Harrell can still be that “sixth-man” type of player for Sacramento in their second-unit. Giving up Buddy Hield in a trade for two impactful, experienced players is definitely not that bad of a move for the Kings, especially since they could build with Kuzma for the foreseeable future.
