Sacramento Kings Receive: F Kyle Kuzma, G Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and 2023 second-round pick
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F Harrison Barnes and G Delon Wright
Like I previously mentioned, the Lakers don’t have many assets to move in potential trades, with only six players under contract for them entering the offseason. Additionally, Los Angeles only has 10 draft picks to work with through 2028, making it tough for them to conduct business with other teams. Nevertheless, the Lakers and the Kings could work something out that benefits both sides.
Besides getting Kuzma in this scenario, Sacramento would get Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and a 2023 second-round pick from Los Angeles. Caldwell-Pope is a solid shooting guard that brings energy to both ends of the floor.
Given the youthful look of the roster, the Kings could use a veteran like Caldwell-Pope in their locker room. Getting two players who have won a championship could aid Sacramento in finding the right direction in which their franchise should go.
On the other side of the trade, the Lakers would receive Barnes and Delon Wright. It’s no secret that Los Angeles is seeking a point guard this offseason, especially with the team likely letting Dennis Schroder walk in NBA free agency.

While Wright isn’t a premier starter, he can be a solid starter, or the Lakers can elect to use him off of the bench. The Kings get slightly younger and add a veteran piece in this trade, while the Lakers add experienced players that can be key contributors on a contending roster.
