Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors made some trade talks before the deadline earlier this year. These talks were initiated by the Mavericks, who were looking to trade Kristaps Porzingis for Kelly Oubre Jr. We would love to see those trade talks initiated again.
In this scenario, a sign-and-trade for Oubre would be worked out. If the Mavericks were interested in him before the deadline, it is fair to assume they would still have interest in him now as a free agent. For Golden State, this deal would likely mean they can hold onto a majority if not all of, their core assets as the Mavericks is the one looking to part ways with a disgruntled player here.
Acquiring a player such as Porzinigs is a big risk. One of the qualms he has about the Mavericks is that he is feeling under-appreciated and believes he is an afterthought with Luka Doncic running the show. Would he continue feeling that way coming to a Warriors’ team he would be at best the third option most nights?
The injuries are also a red flag, as Porzinigs has suffered multiple lower-body injuries in the last three years alone. Having that kind of money tied up long-term may not be a good business decision for Golden State.

But, the Warriors do have the personnel to make it work. Kristaps Porzingis would be able to play power forward almost exclusively with Green and James Wiseman on the roster. He would give the Warriors a third option only the Brooklyn Nets could rival and provide some rim protection as well.
