Sacramento Kings
Kyle Kuzma’s first two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers were very productive, as his head coach, Luke Walton, was able to get the most out of him. After he was fired by the Lakers, Walton latched on with the Sacramento Kings, who represent another great landing spot for Kuzma.
Playing for his old head coach would make the transition a little easier as there is some level of comfortability there. He averaged 16.1 points per game under Walton as a rookie and improved to 18.9 in his sophomore season despite his 3-point shot abandoning him.
With the Kings, Kuzma would slide right into a prominent role in their frontcourt. Outside of Harrison Barnes, the team gets little consistency from the forward spots. While he is not the world’s best defender, Kuzma would be an upgrade in that department for the Kings, who just set the record for the worst defensive rating in NBA history.
For the Lakers, Barnes would be a logical target in a return package. He would be a great fit alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis as a two-way forward. The former North Carolina product is good enough to punish mismatches on offense and versatile enough to defend both forward spots, and some centers in certain circumstances, defensively.

Buddy Hield is another player the Lakers could target from the Kings in a Kuzma trade. Los Angeles needs 3-point shooting and Hield would provide that in bunches as a 40.6 percent career shooter from distance.
