San Antonio Spurs
There aren’t many organizations in the NBA that have the track record of the San Antonio Spurs when it comes to developing players. Should Kyle Kuzma land here in a trade, his career could really blossom.
The Spurs look like they will have a big void to fill in their frontcourt. LaMarcus Aldridge was bought out and had to retire because of a heart ailment. DeMar DeRozan and Rudy Gay are both entering free agency, leaving the frontcourt thing heading into the offseason.
While not the playmaker that DeRozan has developed into, Kuzma would be a solid replacement in the Spurs’ lineup for him. He would offer more floor spacing and rebounding than DeRozan and a similar level of defense.
DeRozan would be a logical sign-and-trade target for the Lakers, should that be the route they want to take. Derrick White, who is reportedly gettable according to The Athletic, along with Dejounte Murray, could also be targeted for Los Angeles.

All three would bring something to the table for the Lakers to help get them back contending in the Western Conference. Kuzma would be afforded the chance to develop alongside players closer to his timeline with the Spurs.
