Does this trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?
Of course, the Washington Wizards would prefer to keep Bradley Beal as their primary franchise cornerstone moving forward. No team wants to move on from a superstar player like Beal. But if Washington has their hands tied with a trade request by Beal, then they’d best be looking for a massive package for the elite scorer.
The ability to get Barrett is definitely something that would entice the Wizards if a Beal trade was imminent. Barrett is a 21-year-old shooting guard that has shown a ton of promise in his first two years in the NBA.
Toppin is a solid piece that Washington can move around until they find his role on the roster. Robinson would become the team’s starting center upon being acquired, though, he would need to maintain his health to remain in the starting lineup.
At the least, the Wizards have Daniel Gafford to spell Robinson if the 23-year-old center suffers another injury in the future. If Washington is content with starting from scratch in a Beal trade, then the return they would get from New York wouldn’t be the worst package they’d receive.

However, Toppin’s unknown talent and Robinson’s injury issues could cause Washington to be hesitant on doing business with the Knicks. Plus, as mentioned before, the Wizards could be asking for more draft capital than I listed in the scenario, especially with the Knicks having plenty of picks to sacrifice.
