Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers look like they are about ready to put an end to ‘The Process’ era. After another earlier than anticipated exit from the playoffs and disappointing performance from Ben Simmons offensively, the 76ers are ready for a shake-up.
The Portland Trail Blazers present a good opportunity for that shake-up to occur. While the 76ers would like to acquire Damian Lillard in a trade package for Simmons, CJ McCollum would be a great consolation prize for them.
While McCollum is not as adept at playmaking as Simmons, he would bring that perimeter scoring punch the 76ers currently doesn’t have.
Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris, the team’s starting frontcourt, combined to average 48 of the team’s 113.6 points per game during the regular season. Simmons, Shake Milton and Seth Curry were the only other players to average double-digit points per game for the 76ers in the regular season.

The 76ers would also be losing something defensively, swapping Simmons out for McCollum, but with the second-best defensive rating in the league last season, they can afford a drop-off as McCollum would improve their 13th overall offensive rating.
