Denver Nuggets Receive: Bradley Beal
Washington Wizards Receive: Michael Porter Jr., Will Barton, Monte Morris, Zeke Nnaji, No. 26 Pick In 2021, 2026 First-Round Pick Swap
There is a lot to unpack in a trade offer of this size. At the start, the Denver Nuggets get Bradley Beal to help push them toward title contention, but it does not come cheap.
The Washington Wizards will be looking for a combination of high-ceiling young players and draft picks. Denver is hamstrung when it comes to offering first-round picks because of the Stepien Rule, as they already parted ways with their 2023 and 2025 first-rounders. As a result, the 26th pick this year and future swap head to Washington.
But, Washington cannot be too disappointed with the lack of draft pick compensation knowing they are receiving Michael Porter Jr. back in the deal. Porter Jr. was in discussions to be the No. 1 overall pick in 2018 before concerns with a back injury derailed that. He ended up going 14th overall to the Nuggets and sat out his entire rookie season.
Since getting back on the court, he showed why he was the No. 1 recruit in his class and in the discussion for being the No. 1 pick before being injured. He has legitimate star potential given his three-level scoring ability. At only 23-years old, there is plenty of time to round out the rest of his game and turn into a multi-time All-Star.

Porter Jr. is the centerpiece of the deal, but serviceable pieces are coming back as well. Will Barton is an experienced scorer from the wing that could be flipped for assets later on in the rebuild. Monte Morris is a solid floor general to help lead the offense and Nnaji is a bouncy forward that would add depth to their frontcourt.
While Washington may receive more draft compensation from other teams, they won’t do much better than Porter Jr. as the centerpiece of a deal.
