Move Buddy Hield and/or Harrison Barnes
In order to get more help, you would not think to trade away talented players on your roster, but this is precisely what the Kings should look to do. Buddy Hield is owed $61.5M over the next three seasons and Harrison Barnes is owed $38.6M over the course of the next two seasons, which is not terrible, but the Kings need to find a way to open up some cap space on their roster.
For a team that is not close to being a threat in the Western Conference, Sacramento is paying too much to keep this team together right now, which is why they need to try and leverage either Hield or Barnes. Both guys carry a reasonable amount of value on the trade market and the Kings could actually get something valuable for either one of these guys.
Whether it is another first-round draft pick this year or another young talent that they can pair with Fox and Haliburton, the Kings need to try and do something to add younger value to their roster this offseason. They are not in a position to contend, so there is no reason to be paying both Buddy Hield and Harrison Barnes $20M+ during the 2021-22 season.
There have been some rumors that the Kings have interest in Ben Simmons and while he also carries a heavy price tag financially, he is the perfect kind of target for Sacramento. A young, All-Star-like talent that they could build around/with for many years to come is exactly what Sacramento needs.

Whether or not they can make this trade actually happen remains a big question, but moving Buddy Hield seems more likely than moving Harrison Barnes at this point. There are a handful of teams around the league that will be looking to add another sharpshooter to their roster this year, giving the Kings leverage in trade talks surrounding Hield.
