3 moves Kings could consider to get De’Aaron Fox more help

De'Aaron Fox, NBA Trade Rumors, Sacramento Kings
NBA Analysis Network

While his team missed the playoffs for the 15th consecutive NBA season, De’Aaron Fox really made a big jump in his fourth season in the league with the Sacramento Kings. Last offseason, Fox signed a five-year, $163M rookie-extension and he proved why he can be the Kings leader moving forward with his performances during the 2020-21 season.

In 58 games this past season, Fox averaged 25.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.2 assists and shot 47.7% from the floor. He finished with a total of 18 games with 30+ points, ranking him 11th in the league in 30+ point games and he even scored a new career-high 44 points against the Golden State Warriors in March.

From being a pesty, scrappy defender who can create turnovers to one of the most explosive guards in the league in transition, De’Aaron Fox has seemed to push himself into the “next man up” category when it comes to talking about potential first-time All-Stars heading into next season.

He checks off every single box in terms of being a high-level, high-motor player that can be effective for many years to come, but the problem with De’Aaron Fox is that he is on a really bad team. Nothing is really special about the Sacramento Kings right now, even though they do have a solid starting rotation.

With a core of De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Marvin Bagley III and Richaun Holmes, the Kings have some talented players, but they could wind up looking like a much different team roster-wise next season amidst all of the trade rumors swirling around them and the potential of losing some key assets in free agency.

So what do the Kings need to do in order to try and build off of their recent success with De’Aaron Fox? Let’s take a look at three moves that the Kings should consider in order to get their young guard more help.
