Chicago Bulls Receive: G Lonzo Ball
New Orleans Pelicans Receive: G Coby White, F/C Thaddeus Young, 2022 second-round pick

If the New Orleans Pelicans are searching for the best possible trade package for Lonzo Ball, the Chicago Bulls may have the best package they can get.

The Bulls do not have a first-round pick in this year’s draft due to their pick going to the Orlando Magic in the Nikola Vucevic trade. But they do have Coby White, a young point guard that could have the potential to evolve into a long-term starter for the Pelicans.

White is a talented scorer, but he needs to fine-tune the rest of his game before he’s considered a cornerstone player. That’s partly why the Bulls could benefit from an upgrade.

On the other hand, Thaddeus Young would present the Pelicans an experienced versatile forward that could do quite a lot for them. Young would be a welcomed acquisition, especially as someone that could mentor Williamson next season.

Seeing that Ball can be signed by anyone — and the Pelicans can match — New Orleans likely won’t get an extremely large package for him. The Bulls could still be intriguing as a trade partner.

That being said, getting Coby White, Thaddeus Young, and a future second-round pick (plus possibly more) may be the most they could garner in a sign-and-trade for Lonzo Ball. Not to mention, they would still keep their 10th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
