Does this trade make sense for the San Antonio Spurs?

This would certainly be a bit of a shock to see San Antonio pull the trigger on. Murray has been viewed as a franchise point guard and want to build around for the future. This all depends on how Gregg Popovich and the Spurs view a player like Malcolm Brogdon and what their short-term goals are.

When looking at the player they would be getting, the fit makes sense. Brogdon seems like a Popovich-type point guard. He can defend along the perimeter and brings versatility on the offensive end.

Brogdon can score at all three levels and is reliable at the free-throw line, which makes him valuable at the end of games.

Johnson and Derrick White would still be in the backcourt for the Spurs along with program. Adding depth and explosiveness down low could be a goal for the Spurs this offseason.

Trading Murray would be a surprise but it would not be want to see the Spurs contact the Indiana about Malcolm Brogdon or Domantas Sabonis. This is certainly an intriguing storyline to keep an eye on as the offseason quickly approaches.
