New Orleans Pelicans
After just one year at the helm, Stan Van Gundy is out as the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans. New Orleans fell short of achieving their expectations this season, recording a dismal 31-41 record, causing them to miss out on the postseason.
At the least, the team does have Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson to build around. And if they want Lonzo Ball back, they can match any offer he receives in free agency.
But with an inexperienced core on the Pelicans, they could benefit from adding a veteran like Eric Gordon. Gordon is familiar with the New Orleans organization having spent 2011-16 with the franchise.
Even though his outside shooting hasn’t been where you’d like to see it in recent years, maybe a change of scenery would do wonders for him.

The Pelicans could insert him as their starting shooting guard to create more spacing or they could elect to use him as a much-needed weapon in their second unit. Either way, New Orleans should be a team monitoring the situation pertaining to Gordon this offseason.
