Celtics Have A Need At Point Guard
With the trade of Kemba Walker, the Boston Celtics now have a huge hole at the point guard position. Depending on what other moves they make in the offseason, they could shift Marcus Smart over to the spot full-time, but even with that, they need depth at the position.
Right now, Smart and Peyton Pritchard are the only two point guards on the roster. There have been rumors that Smart could be on the move this offseason as well, which would create an even bigger hole to fill at the position.
While Pritchard showed some flashes in his rookie year, it is unlikely the Celtics want to increase his role that much in his sophomore season to the point that he is playing starter minutes. Adding Derrick Rose to the mix would keep that from happening.
While Rose, at 33-years old in October, probably shouldn’t be a starter anymore, he did show that he can handle those minutes with the Knicks.

Whether it was as the starter or sixth man, Rose got the job done regardless of how many minutes he was asked to play.
