Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
Myles Turner might not be a long-term piece for this Indiana Pacers’ team and that is the main benefit of a trade. It’s difficult to win at a high-level in today’s NBA with two big men on substantial contracts. Given how Domantas Sabonis is a two-time All-Star, he would very likely remain.
If Turner is not part of the plan, Indiana needs to find a way to get a return for him. They would get an interest package back from the Charlotte Hornets here.
It begins with PJ Washington. He is an intriguing young player that can continue to grow in an extended role with the Pacers. He has experience in the post and can continue to grow his game on the offensive end.
Indiana already holds a pick in the lottery and can gain another in this NBA trade scenario. If they are a rebuilding team, it makes sense to add some prospects that will help for the future.
