This Hornets-Pacers trade is centered on Myles Turner to Charlotte

Does this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?

The Charlotte Hornets are a lineup that is set up in a very interesting way. They have loaded up the backcourt but have not done the same down low. Charlotte made a push in free agency for some help last season but were unable to land any big names, such as Montrezl Harrell. This offseason, it is likely they prioritize this.

It can be done in a trade such as this. Myles Turner proved to be a difference maker down low on both ends of the floor. He has always been a strong rebounder and rim protector. Turner led the league in blocks per game this season.

On the offensive end, he is beginning to incorporate a three-point shot into his game. It is still a work in progress but he will be able to develop further with a team like the Hornets.

Some fire power in the backcourt will also help Myles Turner as he will be set up in perfect position. Charlotte sorely needs improvement on defense and there is arguably no better way to achieve this than to land a high-level rim protector who can get by on switches and ‘2-on-1’ pick-and-roll sequences.
