Delon Wright
Once again, Dennis Schroder is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and he’s reportedly seeking a massive payday. Schroder’s camp could just be trying to incentivize the Lakers into signing him to a contract he’s content with, or there are truly teams willing to overpay for the German guard.
If Schroder departs in free agency, it may be hard for Los Angeles to replace him with one point guard as they don’t have the facilities to get a star (or do they?). So besides signing someone affordable in free agency, the Lakers could inquire about Delon Wright on the Sacramento Kings.
I’ve been in the camp that believes that Los Angeles should do everything they can to get Buddy Hield out of Sacramento. However, if Hield isn’t made available to the Lakers, Delon Wright would be a decent contingency plan. Wright is a versatile guard that can play either guard spot.
This season, with Sacramento and the Detroit Pistons, Delon Wright averaged 10.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.6 steals per game on 37.2 percent shooting from three-point range.

His ability to create extra possessions on the defensive end and incite fast breaks would be perfect for the Lakers. Even if Los Angeles doesn’t view him as a starter, he’d fit well as a key player in their bench unit.
