Does this trade make sense for the Dallas Mavericks?

If the Mavericks are able to acquire Bradley Beal without trading away Luka Doncic, then they should immediately accept/propose this trade. Beal has turned himself into a Top-15 player in this league given how valuable he is on the offensive-end of the floor and Dallas really needs another star player next to Luka Doncic.

Right now, Luka Doncic is the only source of production on the Mavericks when they need to score, which is why bringing in Beal would make a ton of sense. He would take a lot of pressure off of Doncic to do everything for Dallas and create one of the better “one-two punches” in the league on the offensive-end of the floor.

The best part about acquiring Bradley Beal is how unselfish he is as a player. There were lots of question marks surrounding how he and Westbrook would play together, yet that duo worked out perfectly. If Beal can play with Westbrook, who is very ball-dominant, he could thrive playing with a guy like Luka Doncic.

The two of these guys could have a great “your turn, my turn” repertoire as Hughes stated and given how good of a passer Doncic is, he would have no problem deferring at times to Bradley Beal if he was the guy getting going and knocking down shots.

Many tend to believe Doncic is a selfish player, but that is simply not the case. He is just the only source of offense on a team that is really lacking offensive production, hence why he averaged about 20 shot attempts per game this year and upwards of 30 shot attempts in playoff games this year.

It is no secret that Dallas needs another star player and by the looks of things, Bradley Beal would be their best option to pursue. The only catch though is that Washington is also in a “win-now” type of position and may not want to give up Bradley Beal unless they were getting a ton of value in return.

Kristaps Porzingis is not a guy that will blow them away in a trade proposal, nor are the other assets they receive. There is definitely value in this trade proposal by Dallas, it just may not be the right kind of value Washington wants for Bradley Beal.
