Lakers could try to get Kevin Love in a deal

This is one reason a Collin Sexton trade could be feasible for the Lakers. They may not have the best package to offer, but if they are willing to take back Kevin Love, it could significantly lower the asking price.

There have been rumors that the Cavaliers and Love could discuss a potential buy-out despite him being under contract through 2023. It would be a massive financial commitment to take on, but if Rob Pelinka is willing to do it, it may help facilitate a Sexton deal.

A package of Kyle Kuzma, Talen Horton-Tucker sign-and-trade could work financially depending on how much Horton-Tucker signs for.

To make the money work, Los Angeles could also include Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to make the money work. The No. 22 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft could be included as a sweetener to Cleveland in exchange for Sexton and Love.

Contenders would line up for Love if he did agree to a buyout on his deal. The Lakers could beat them to the punch with a deal like this, adding another battle-tested veteran along with a high-upside young player.
