Does this trade make sense for the New Orleans Pelicans?
There is no doubt that the NBA has turned into a league that has incredible guard play. New Orleans had a strong option at the top with Jrue Holiday but he was traded at the beginning of the season.
In return, the Pelicans received Eric Bledsoe from the Milwaukee Bucks and he is not the long-term answer either. New Orleans is sorely in need of a more dynamic option than what’s currently on their roster, including Lonzo Ball.
Fox is just a player to place at the top of the offense along with Williamson. He has shown that he can score when needed and is a dynamic passer. Fox is one of the fastest players with the ball in his hands which means he would fit right into the Pelicans’ style of play.
De’Aaron Fox and Zion Williamson would be able to run the floor and dominate transition while being a pick-and-roll duo in the half court.

New Orleans needs a next-level player to join the star power that is already in place. In the Western Conference, it is important to stack up stars and that is what the front office is trying to build here.
