Why the Los Angeles Lakers Should Trade for Buddy Hield
Arguably the biggest weakness for the Los Angeles Lakers last season was their 3-point shooting or lack thereof. Los Angeles ranked 21st in 3-point shooting percentage and 25th in 3-point makes per game last season.
That is a number they must improve upon and Hield would certainly help them accomplish that. Hield has knocked down 40.6 percent of his 3-point attempts in his career and made at least 39.1 percent every season.
A shooter of that quality would fit in extremely well alongside LeBron James, who thrives when he has space to operate offensively.
Hield has also begun rounding out his game in recent seasons, as he is a much-improved playmaker. When De’Aaron Fox was unable to play near the end of the 2020-21 season, Hield took on more playmaking responsibilities and responded with at least three assists in the last 14 games of the season.

Another thing Hield would bring to the Lakers is durability. He has missed only three games in five seasons. Knowing he would be in the lineup virtually night in and night would be nice for Frank Vogel after all of the injuries he had to navigate this season.
