Chicago Bulls move Lauri Markkenan via sign-and-trade
With the acquisition of Nikola Vucevic, the Bulls frontcourt is overly crowded. They tried to make things work with Markkanen playing alongside him but quickly realized that was a recipe for disaster.
At only 24-years old, Markkanen still has plenty of time to develop his overall game. He took strides offensively this season, upping his efficiency across the board with career-highs in shooting percentage, 3-point percentage, effective field goal percentage and true shooting percentage.
Markkanen is heading into restricted free agency and the Bulls would be hesitant to dump big money into a player that will be coming off the bench. He just simply does not have enough quickness to be successful playing alongside Nikola Vucevic for long stretches.
Instead of allowing Markkanen to leave for nothing, they should attempt to work out a sign-and-trade involving him. His shooting ability in the frontcourt will surely be intriguing to plenty of teams.

This is another avenue the Bulls can explore to upgrade their point guard position if they are unable to sign a free agent.
