Kristaps Porzingis
The writing has been on the wall for Kristaps Porzingis to be traded by the Dallas Mavericks since early this season. Porzingis and Luka Doncic never seemed to mesh as well as the Mavericks expected when they landed Porzingis in a blockbuster trade with the New York Knicks a couple of years ago.
And following back-to-back years where they were ousted in the first round of the playoffs, Porzingis is as good as gone. While injuries and inconsistent play have been a common theme for Porzingis in Dallas, there are going to be teams that believe they can get him back to where he was a few seasons ago.
With the Mavericks needing to find Doncic a new running mate, Porzingis will undoubtedly be on a new roster next season.
Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry was nearly traded by the Toronto Raptors ahead of the trade deadline this season, but the Raptors elected to hold onto him instead. After deciding to keep him, Lowry now has an opportunity to sign wherever he wants in free agency.
Even though I wouldn’t completely eliminate the idea of Lowry returning to Toronto, all signs point toward him signing with a team poised for a run at a championship. At 34 years old, Lowry notched 17.4 points and 7.3 assists per game following a six-year run as an All-Star in 2020-21.

Given the notion that plenty of teams are seeking a point guard this summer, the Raptors probably won’t have much of a chance to retain Lowry. A sign-and-trade is definitely possible if Toronto wants to get something in return for the veteran floor general.
