Tyler Herro has shown up on the big stage
Having great performances in the regular season of the NBA is impressive, but if you can’t get it done when the lights are brightest during the postseason, people’s opinion of you will begin to change.
While Herro struggled in the 2021 playoff matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, as the Miami Heat was swept, his performance in the 2020 Orlando Bubble put him on the map.
Herro averaged 16 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 33.6 minutes per game as the Heat made it to the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers. He scored in double-figures in 20 out of 21 games, all the more impressive when you remember Herro was a rookie in a pandemic altered season.
His 37-point performance in Game 5 against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals to give the Heat a 3-1 lead was his coming out party. Brad Stevens and company had nothing to slow him down, as he shot 14-of-21 from the field and 5-of-10 from the 3-point line, knocking down all four of his free-throw attempts as well.

He didn’t come close to any performances like that in 2021, but seeing what he did as a rookie, you know the bright lights don’t phase him. For a team with title aspirations such as the Clippers, knowing Herro can get it done in the postseason is important.
