The LA Clippers are heading into a very important NBA offseason. Star Kawhi Leonard will be entering free agency again and his decision, whether it be to re-sign or leave, will change the landscape of the organization for the foreseeable future.

If Leonard does leave, the Clippers should do everything in their power to make it a sign-and-trade so that they can get some assets in return. Replacing a player of Leonard’s caliber is never an easy thing to do, but at least the Clippers would be able to add some depth to their roster in this scenario.

One of the teams that have been a rumored landing spot for Leonard is the Miami Heat. Miami happens to have a young player in Tyler Herro that would be a good starting point in sign-and-trade talks should things get to that point.

While Herro has his shortcomings, as his off-court happenings made some headlines recently and he is a sieve on defense, there is a lot to like about the former Kentucky Wildcat should he develop more consistency on the court.

With the likelihood seemingly high that Herro is moved, as it is being reported that there is a 75 percent chance of a trade, Los Angeles needs to get involved. Even if the Clippers retain Leonard, Herro would still be someone worth looking into acquiring.

Here are three reasons the Los Angeles Clippers should pursue a trade for Tyler Herro this NBA offseason.
