Does this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Clippers?

Adding Kemba Walker definitely puts the Los Angeles Clippers on a higher pedestal than they are already on after making their first Western Conference Finals appearance, but losing Ivica Zubac and Marcus Morris could really hurt this team’s chemistry.

The Clippers would definitely look to move on from Luke Kennard, even after they gave him a questionable contract extension, but the other two guys involved in this deal played huge roles for Los Angeles this season.

Morris was a knockdown shooter for the Clippers this year and Zubac really stepped up this season with Serge Ibaka being out. Ivica Zubac started 7 of the Clippers 17 postseason games this year and he really made a difference in terms of being a terrific rebounder.

If the Clippers were to make this deal, they would have to have reassurance from Serge Ibaka that he would not opt out of his contract with his $9.7M player option, but they would also need to know that this trio of Kawhi, George and Walker could actually work.

A lot goes into this trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but there is no denying that Kemba Walker is a key talent that the Clippers could utilize.

The Bucks made the move to acquire Jrue Holiday last offseason and it brought them to the NBA Finals, so adding this third All-Star-caliber talent to their roster could absolutely be the difference in the Clippers breaking through during the 2021-22 season.

Figuring out the other teams involved in this deal would definitely be key, but overall, this is not a bad trade for Los Angeles if both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George would want to play with Kemba Walker. If they do not want to play with him, then giving up the assets to bring him to the Clippers would not be wise.
