Does this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?
The Toronto Raptors have been one of the best teams in the league in recent years. That was not the case this past season. Toronto struggled from the beginning of the season with injuries and inconsistent play. This is something they could look to improve and plan for heading into next season.
Kyle Lowry is a piece that they will have to replace. He is one of the best players in franchise history and will not be easy to replace. Brunson is a point guard who will have a long career because he is as rock solid as they come.
There is a chance Jalen Brunson turns into a starting guard but he has been an incredible bench piece. Porzingis would be the big name going to Toronto and there are some question marks.
If Porzingis can stay healthy and wants to be a Raptor, this deal would help Toronto compete. It does help that the Raptors were actually on his list of preferred destinations when he decided to ask the New York Knicks for a trade.

The Eastern Conference was top heavy this season. The Raptors were expected to be near that top but that did not happen. This offseason has a chance to be full of moves to get them back to that top spot.
