New York Knicks Receive: G CJ McCollum
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: F Obi Toppin, G Alec Burks, 2021 first-round pick, 2021 second-round pick (via DET) and 2022 second-round pick
It should be noted that the Knicks don’t have many players under contract, which makes trading players more complicated. That doesn’t mean they can’t do a sign-and-trade, or involve some of their younger players that are still on rookie contracts.
While the team selected him in hopes he’d become a potential star, Obi Toppin would be involved in a potential trade for McCollum.
Toppin could be of interest to Portland due to his athletic ability and the flashes he’s shown as an improved shooter from outside. And with McCollum gone, the Trail Blazers can get a shooting guard in Alec Burks in return, who would need to be acquired in a sign-and-trade due to him being an unrestricted free agent.

To top it all off, the Knicks would send their 2021 first-round pick, a 2021 second-round pick (via DET), and a second-round pick in 2022. The draft picks would be thrown in for the Trail Blazers in the scenario that they are looking to bolster their draft capital for the future.
