Step Four: Move on from Kyle Kuzma
There are fans that believe Kyle Kuzma can be a long-term fixture on the Los Angeles Lakers, and there are fans that believe he is overrated, there’s no in between.
Kuzma has his strengths, but doesn’t fit the current construction of Los Angeles’ roster. Kuzma’s scoring is still too sporadic for them to lean on him as a third option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and his shooting efficiency isn’t where the team would like it.
Despite signing Kuzma to an extension last offseason, it’s time for the Lakers to deal Kuzma elsewhere to fortify the roster. There is no longer time to waste to do so.
At 25-years-old and room for improvement, Kuzma has decent trade value for teams looking for a versatile wing player. He could be a helpful talent filling a small ball four role on a team that needs to bolster their talent in that area.

While Kuzma could develop into a decent player at some point in his career, the Lakers would be best trading him while his trade value is still high enough to net them a solid contributor.
