Does this trade make sense for the Dallas Mavericks?

The Dallas Mavericks were eliminated in the first round of the postseason for the second straight year. They were unable to get by the Los Angeles Clippers after entering the postseason as the fifth seed.

While it’s clear the Mavericks have solidified themselves as a playoff contenders, they are looking to take that next step in a difficult Western Conference. As a result, Dallas is going to be featured in many NBA trade rumors moving forward.

Kristaps Porzingis is going to be at the forefront of most of them. After NBA trade rumors came out that Porzingis was unhappy with his role with the Mavericks, the front office could look to send him away in a blockbuster trade.

This is not that trade, but it could lend them a potential replacement if Kristaps Porzingis is moved. Bamba is a player that could use a change of scenery and the Mavericks could look to use him in a different way.

Sometimes all it takes is a fresh start for a player to get their legs under them. Joining a team with a player like Luka Doncic does not hurt either. The Mavericks have become a postseason team and they are looking to do whatever it takes to stay there moving forward.
