CJ McCollum to the Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are in a pristine spot with their duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to build around moving forward. For Boston to return to being a title contender in the Eastern Conference, they need a third star player to join forces with Tatum and Brown.

The Portland Trail Blazers are a team that could help the Celtics out by trading them CJ McCollum this offseason. McCollum has posted six consecutive seasons of 20+ points per game and he’s a three-level scorer that doesn’t need the ball to be effective.

Newly-hired head coach Ime Udoka seemed keen on keeping Marcus Smart around in Boston, but what if he can get the Celtics McCollum?

Whenever Tatum or Brown need a breather, McCollum is capable of handling the ball and creating for others as well. He could provide what the Celtics thought Kemba Walker was going to be able to bring for the duration of his contract.
