Damian Lillard to the Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers seemed destined to make a push to the NBA Finals as the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference this season.

However, the underwhelming play of Ben Simmons and the lack of firepower around Joel Embiid led to Philadelphia’s demise in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. With Joel Embiid being the franchise cornerstone, the 76ers need to surround him with better shooting, preferably a star player that can shoot at an efficient clip.

There are a handful of players that have been mentioned in NBA trade rumors as potential candidates that could end up on the 76ers. That being said, none of them would make more sense than Damian Lillard. Lillard would give Philadelphia the spacing they desire at point guard, something that Simmons has failed to do.

And regardless of whether or not it’s Simmons or Tobias Harris is involved in the trade, the 76ers would still have a formidable starting lineup that consists of Lillard, Embiid, either Simmons or Harris, and Seth Curry.
