1. Discuss Contract Extensions for Big Three
The Nets were finally able to put their big three together when Harden was acquired in a trade in the beginning of the season.
All three stars are in similar situations when it comes to contracts. It has been seen that NBA teams attempt to load up on stars in hopes of winning. The Nets could revisit contract situations in hopes of keeping their stars together long term.
Both Durant and Irving signed a four-year deal with the Nets last offseason. They are already halfway through that deal. Harden signed a similar deal with the Rockets and he is also halfway through.
All three players are eligible for extensions this offseason. It is likely that if one signs, they will all sign. If they leave, it is likely that all three are gone. The Nets could show initiative and discuss contract extensions this offseason. This is not to say that deals will get done but the Brooklyn Nets would be wise to at least bring the topic to light so the big three knows that it is a priority.
