Chris Paul is not going to back down to anybody

This is now Year 16 for Chris Paul in the league and he had to make a ton of sacrifices to get to where he is now. From battling various injuries throughout his career, to being on teams that collapsed in the postseason, to being the difference-maker on teams winning and losing, the future Hall-of-Fame point guard is finally being rewarded for all of his years of hard work.

Chris Paul is now in the NBA Finals for the first-time in his career and what he did for this Phoenix Suns team is incredible. You can easily point out their win percentage increasing and him being their leader all season long, but the biggest difference for Paul this year compared to the rest of his career is how much of an impact he has had on every single guy on this roster.

Not to mention, he looks like a man on a mission right now. In the playoffs, CP3 is now averaging 18.1 points, 8.7 assists and is shooting 47% from the floor. The most impressive stat for Paul though is the fact that his assist to turnover ratio is 5.5 to 1.

Being able to facilitate at a high-level like Paul is right now while maintaining possession of the ball is extremely impressive and one of the main reasons why the Suns will win the championship this year. He is the leader of this team and Phoenix is able to get such great shots because of Chris Paul’s greatness.

He draws so much attention offensively that when he penetrates his opponent’s defense, he is able to see the entire floor and make quick decisions in terms of who to pass the ball to. That and the fact that Chris Paul’s running jumper from the free-throw line area has been on point.

In the Suns first-round series, Paul battled a shoulder injury and he could barely move his entire right arm. He still led the Suns though with one arm and was able to help rally them past the Lakers. Then after cruising past the Nuggets in the second-round, Paul was forced to miss the first two games of this Western Conference Finals series due to health and safety protocols.

All these little things have compiled over the course of CP3’s entire career and have prevented him from achieving playoff glory, but he was not about to cave in yet again. He kept fighting and fighting and now, Chris Paul has brought the Phoenix Suns to the NBA Finals.

His entire journey this year with Phoenix has been incredible to watch and with the “Point God” himself playing at one of the highest levels of his career, it is hard to imagine that the Hawks or Bucks will be able to slow him down.
