Does this trade make sense for the Portland Trail Blazers?
It is unlikely that the Portland Trail Blazers are going to move both CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard this offseason. If McCollum is being sent away, that means Lillard will remain on the roster and that is an immediate benefit for the team.
Lillard is one of the best players in the game and one that Portland would certainly like to keep in town. It would take the superstar guard outright demanding to be traded and making it clear he refuses to play until he is moved — similar to James Harden with the Houston Rockets.
If Lillard is at the top of the offense, having a player like Brogdon next to him would balance out well. Malcolm Brogdon can knock down an open shot and get downhill along with being an effective defender. Meanwhile, TJ Warren is a certified bucket getter in just about any possible with his improved per-meter shooting.
Warren has legitimately turned into a dynamic scorer that can give some important minutes in the middle of the game. This is a trade for Portland to add a couple pieces in hopes of becoming a deep team in the Western Conference.

This is going to be an offseason full of anxiety for the front office in Portland and their fans. Damian Lillard will be the big story but if teams are interested in CJ McCollum, they could be fielding calls as well.
