Atlanta Hawks

This may come as a surprise to many, but if Donovan Mitchell was to explore other opportunities playing wise, the Atlanta Hawks would definitely be on his list of teams he would be interested in playing for. Not only are they a young team on the rise, but Trae Young, one of Mitchell’s best friends in the league, is the leader of the Hawks.

Pairing these two up with one another would not only be a dream come true for both of them, but would create one of the most lethal backcourt duos in the league for many years to come. At just 22-years-old, Trae Young is already one of the best scoring point guards in the league and has been putting on a show in the playoffs this year.

After being a team that was predicted to be a fringe playoff team this year, the Hawks find themselves in the Eastern Conference Finals, fighting for a chance to to reach the NBA Finals this year. This is in large part because of what Trae Young has been able to accomplish in just his third season in the league.

Both Young and Mitchell are two of the young faces of the league and are going to be two superstars for years to come. The Hawks would probably love the idea of pairing these two guys up with one another, which is why they are a team to keep an eye on over the next few years.

Atlanta is a major step up from Salt Lake City in terms of being a big market in the United States and presents numerous opportunities for Mitchell to expand his personal brand. Given how good the Hawks have been this year, they will likely look to continue building with their young core, which could be advantageous to them in their efforts to potentially lure Donovan Mitchell away from the Jazz.

With their young talents only going to improve from where they are now and the Hawks having a pretty flexible cap situation over the next few years, they are in a great position to land another superstar talent to pair with Trae Young sooner than later. Could Donovan Mitchell be the guy they are gearing up to target?
