Does this trade make senes for the Dallas Mavericks?
The Dallas Mavericks front office will have its hands full this offseason. There will be plenty of NBA trade rumors coming in and out of Dallas involving bigger names than Jalen Brunson. The fact remains that if you could get a first-round pick for him, you take a long hard look.
Brunson has been a solid player since entering the league. He spent three years at a winning program in college and that translated to the NBA. He is a bench piece for Dallas and could have some great value.
Something to take into consideration, Brunson will soon be due for a contract extension and with Luka Doncic already holding down the point guard role. Is it truly worthwhile to give substantial money to a backup guard?
The Celtics are in need of a replacement at the point guard position after moving Kemba Walker to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Boston could offer some rotation ready players along with draft capital in this deal. This deal could sneak up on the Mavericks when they might be looking at some better options.
