Does this trade make sense for the Oklahoma City Thunder
There have been NBA rumors surrounding Zion Williamson that his family is not happy with his current situation in New Orleans. It is unknown if Williamson feels the same way but it is not a good look for the Pelicans. They may be forced to be aggressive in adding some more players around him.
Kemba Walker is an interesting name to look at. He did not fit in well with the dynamic in Boston and that ultimately got him traded. He was more comfortable sliding into the No. 2 scoring role after Jaylen Brown’s season-ending injury, but the Celtics had too much of the same thing when all three stars were healthy.
Walker can score at a high rate and distribute when needed. He is a weapon that can be used alongside other stars. His ability to convert on pull-ups and step-backs from deep in addition to being able to get downhill are sorely needed qualities on the Pelicans.
The Pelicans would have to make sure that he is the right fit within the offense and it would not be another repeat of the Celtics situation. This might have to be the type of move made by the Pelicans if they want to keep Zion Williamson around long term.

The Western Conference is strong and that is not going to change moving forward. The Pelicans are not a postseason team at the moment. That can change if they push the right buttons but it must begin soon.
