New York Knicks Receive: G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Oklahoma City Thunder Receive: 2021 first-round pick (via DAL), 2022 first-round pick, 2023 first-round pick (via DAL), 2024 first-round pick
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played just 35 games this season but he was strong on the offensive end. He seemed to take his game up a notch scoring 23.7 points per game while shooting 41.8% from three-point range.
When looking at what the Knicks can offer, Thunder GM Sam Presti might be intrigued. If it is about draft picks, that is what New York has. They will be able to offer four first-round selections, with two being from the Dallas Mavericks in the Kristaps Porzingis deal.
This means the Knicks will use capital to their advantage while not losing a first-rounder over each of the next four years. Managing to add a point guard with size who has a truly dynamic skill-set in the process…that would be quite the move to pull off for New York.
While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be just 23-years-old in July, the Thunder appear set to be building long-term, so the next few years could be underwhelming in the Western Conference.
