Why the trade benefits the Indiana Pacers?
The Indiana Pacers are no stranger to big-splash trades in the recent year. It got started with Oladipo and continued when they landed Caris LeVert as part of the deal that sent James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets. After Oladipo was dealt, sites began being set on other big-name players.
Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon were the two mentioned right away. They are all-star caliber players that could get a nice return for Indiana and save them some cap space. In this particular deal, you are seeing what a player like Sabonis would get back for the Pacers.
Brandon Ingram is a top-notch scorer that has improved each year in the league. Playing with a stretch-five like Myles Turner would open up the floor nicely for him to get downhill to maximize his impact.
There is still more room for him to grow and that is a nice thought for his next team. Indiana could be looking for that leader of the floor and Ingram fits the bill. With TJ Warren entering the final year of his contract, it’s especially important to have another wing.

The Pacers are looking to rebound from a disappointing season that saw them finish near the bottom of the Eastern Conference. If Brogdon is on the roster with a player like Ingram, this would give the Pacers plenty of options on both ends of the floor.
