Gordon Hayward – Charlotte Hornets
Prior to the Charlotte Hornets signing Gordon Hayward last offseason via a sign-and-trade with the Boston Celtics, the Indiana Pacers were a team that was highly aggressive in their pursuit for Hayward. They even pursued him when he was a free agent ahead of the 2017-18 season when he decided to sign with the Boston Celtics!
It seems unlikely that the Hornets would want to move on from Hayward after he established himself as the leader of this team, but NBA Analysis Network’s own Evan Massey did report a few days ago that Charlotte is willing to move on from Hayward for “the right price.”
Indiana has always been interested in Gordon Hayward and with the Hornets having a ton of interest in Myles Turner, it seems almost destined that a deal can get done here at some point in the offseason.
Adding Hayward to the Pacers roster does create some question marks about who will play what position, but overall, they would have a highly talented, offensive-minded roster.

With Gordon Hayward, the Pacers would have a core of Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, T.J. Warren, Gordon Hayward and Domantas Sabonis, giving them everything they need to not only be a Top-4 team in the Eastern Conference, but contend for a possible title.
If the Pacers are to look to trade Myles Turner in the offseason, you have to imagine that the first team they will talk to on the phone is the Charlotte Hornets. Indiana wants Gordon Hayward and the Hornets wants Myles Turner, so this is absolutely a trade that the Pacers will potentially explore.
