3. Find another scorer

After the New York Knicks find a point guard, they have to find another player that can consistently score the ball and create for themselves. The Knicks made a wonderful signing in Alec Burks last year. Finding a player like that again won’t be easy but it is something they need to explore all avenues to accomplish again.

When it came down to it, the Knicks just didn’t have enough people that could make it happen in the halfcourt against the Hawks. They loaded up their defense on Julius Randle, and when Barrett went into a slump as well, the Knicks’ offense tanked.

Tying so much of your team’s success to one player, as they had done during the regular season with Randle, is just not a winning recipe.

Norman Powell, whom Tom Thibodeau reportedly likes a lot, DeMar DeRozan and Kelly Oubre Jr. are three players that could fit the bill for this need. Retaining Derrick Rose would also help.
